If you are looking for a new lunch spot downtown, check out the Westin.
One of the restaurants within the Westin is Share, a wonderful place. The restaurant is well appointed with beautiful seating over several levels. We had a great table tucked into a spot right by the fireplace.
The menu is unique with an emphasis on what they refer to as SuperFoods. I had the Mushroom Bruscetta for lunch. Piled with sauteed tender vegetables: onions, tomatoes, spinach, mushrooms, it is rich in SuperFoods. Combine that with strips of tender lean steak, and pile it on four slices of french bread you have a wonderful light perfect lunch. It was so good I had to go back a second day and bring a friend.
The second trip was just as good. The beef carpicco salad sounded tempting but I remained firm with my first choice and I wasn't disappointed. My friend was in the mood for a burger. Served with crisp tomatoes and lettuce, real cheddar cheese, fries on the side, she said it was the best burger she had in a long time.
Share sources their supplies locally, within Alberta, using the best from our province's farmers for optimum freshness. We think it is worth the effort.
Service at the Westin and Share was impeccable, from the concierge who insisted on opening the front door to the kitchen staff, everyone was kind, welcoming and attentive. Our server was great, ensuring the glasses were replenished and the food to our liking . Even one of the chefs walking through just at the end of our lunch stopped to ask how was everything.
As we were heading to the front counter to pay for lunch a hotel staff member came through, took our bill, just to walked us to the front counter. If you want to have a wonderful lunch and be pampered, the Westin is a great place to go and you won't have to break the piggy bank go there.
